Research credit specialists who build claims the way they would defend them

CreditArmor exists because too many research credit claims are calculated well and documented badly. We treat those as one job, not two.

Who we are

CreditArmor is a technology-led research and development tax credit practice serving companies across the United States. We help businesses identify qualifying research, quantify federal and state credits, build the contemporaneous evidence that supports them, and defend those positions when a revenue authority asks questions.

The practice was built around a specific observation. The research credit is one of the most valuable incentives available to American businesses, and also one of the most frequently examined. Companies rarely lose credits because the law was against them. They lose credits because, three years after the work happened, nobody can connect a payroll dollar to a documented experiment.

Our answer is to make documentation a continuous by-product of engineering work rather than an annual reconstruction exercise, and to apply automation where volume creates errors while keeping every judgement call with a specialist.

Our relationship with Swanson Reed

CreditArmor operates as part of Swanson Reed, a specialist tax advisory practice focused exclusively on research and development incentives. Swanson Reed works with businesses across multiple jurisdictions and has built its reputation on technical depth in a single, narrow field rather than breadth across many.

That relationship matters in practice. It means CreditArmor engagements draw on an established specialist bench for technical review, examination defense and experience of how research incentive regimes are administered in different jurisdictions. Clients get software-led speed with the backing of a practice that has argued these positions in front of revenue authorities.

How we work

Every engagement starts with scoping, which is free and produces a written view on eligibility and likely credit range. If the work does not qualify, we say so at that point rather than after an invoice.

From there, automated analysis parses payroll, ledger and engineering system data to produce a first-pass project and expense map. Specialists test each candidate project against the four-part test, decide what stays, and document why. The claim, the evidence file and the defense strategy are produced together.

We do not price documentation or defense work as a percentage of an unverified estimate, because that structure rewards optimism and we would rather be right.
