Mock audits for finance and R&D teams

A research credit claim is built from two sides: finance holds the payroll, invoices and forms; engineering holds the tickets, tests and specifications. A mock audit puts both in front of the same questions.

Who does what

FinanceEngineering or R&D
Form 6765, the state form, prior-year formsProject plans, specifications, kickoff materials
Payroll register, W-2 data, time recordsTickets, commits, test logs, design reviews
Supply invoices, contracts and SOWsWho worked on what, and where
Entity chart, prior-year returnsA TaxTrex position paper, if the team completes the surveys

Reading the result together

  • Project questions are rated against each project's own documents, so the engineering lead for a project can see exactly which record is missing.
  • Company-wide items are answered from the forms, so finance can clear them once for every project.
  • The fix plan orders the work, and the projected score shows what closing a gap is worth.

What this is not

Note. The mock audit is not a shared workspace, does not connect to your payroll or ticketing systems, and does not include specialist sign-off. Files are uploaded by you; the result is reviewed by you and your advisor.

General in nature, not tax advice.
