What it does
- Reads your claim forms and the documents for each project.
- Asks the questions an examiner is likely to ask, per project and company-wide.
- Rates the evidence for each answer and explains the rating.
- Scores the gaps, flags the critical ones and orders the fixes.
- Drafts a response to each question for you to review and edit.
What it does not do
| Not this | Instead |
|---|---|
| Certify eligibility | Eligibility turns on the four-part test and the facts; specialists decide, examiners may differ. |
| Calculate the credit | The calculation is reviewed from your Form 6765; the mock audit does not compute it. |
| Prepare or file returns | Nothing is filed and no return is changed. |
| Represent you in an examination | An open examination needs an advisor. The guide to using a mock audit during an IRS examination explains how the two fit. |
| Insure a claim | No part of the mock audit is insurance. |
Limits that affect every result
- Incomplete uploads produce incomplete results: a Missing rating may mean the record exists but was not supplied.
- Matching works from the documents' content and names; a reviewer can change any rating.
- Scores are product methodology, not audit probabilities.
- The IRS and state agencies exercise their own judgment.
