Understanding your results

The report has a lot on one page. Read it in this order: red flags, scores, reasons, fixes, drafts.

Scores and bands

The score counts evidence gaps from 0 to 100; lower is better. The band (Low, Medium, High) normally follows the score. A red-flag question rated Missing raises the band to at least High whatever the score, and the report says so. See the methodology page for the formula.

Ordinary gaps and critical ones

Every Weak or Missing answer is a gap. Red flags are the gaps that can override the band: in the sample claim, time allocation (F4) and state apportionment (S2). Fix those first.

Matched documents and reasons

Open a question to see which files were matched and the one-sentence reason for the rating. If the reason says a record was not uploaded and you have it, that gap closes by uploading it.

Fix plan and projection

Fixes are ordered red flags first, then impact against effort. Tick one as done to see the scores move. The projected score assumes every listed fix produces the evidence it describes; it is conditional.

Drafts and exports

Each project's IDR response is a draft to review. Check every fact and document reference against the file before any part of it is used.

What a low score means

Note.A low score means few evidence gaps were found in what you supplied. It is never acceptance of the claim by the IRS or a state.

General in nature, not tax advice.
