Editable draft audit responses

For each question the mock audit drafts a response: a summary, the rules the request is tested against, the facts from your documents, the exhibits and a status note for the reviewer. Every draft is marked Review before sending.

What a draft contains

  • Summary of the position.
  • Applicable rules: the section of IRC section 41 or the regulations, or the state rule, the request is tested against.
  • The facts and detail, drawn from the matched documents.
  • Supporting documents listed as exhibits, and items marked To follow.
  • Status: Strong, Weak or Missing, with what is outstanding before the response is sent.

One response per project

The project questions are answered for each business component separately. The company-wide items are answered once and included in every project's response. The vision-system response in the sample claim runs to about 5,700 words; the gripper-arm response to about 6,300.

Editing and checking

Every draft is editable in place and your edits carry into the download. Before a response is used, each factual statement, document reference and unsupported assumption needs checking. The review checklist sets out how.

No submission, no representation

Note.Drafting does not send anything to the IRS or a state agency, and a draft is not professional representation. Downloads are for your own review and your advisor's.

General in nature, not tax advice.
